Ou Yang Offshore Engineering supported CGNPC Shanwei Houhu
Offshore Wind Power Project in completing full- capacity grid connection
At 11:18 on November 25, with the last wind turbine connected to the grid, all 91 wind turbines of CGN Shanwei Houhu 500,000-kilowatt offshore wind farm project were connected to the grid for power generation, becoming the first full-capacity grid-connected offshore wind power project in eastern Guangdong. It is also one of the offshore wind power projects with the largest single capacity in operation in China.
The CGNPC Shanwei Houhu Offshore Wind Farm Project is located in the sea area south of Lufeng Hudong Town, Shanwei City, Guangdong. The center of the site is about 12 kilometers offshore, and the water depth is 23 to 26 meters. A total of 91 5.5MW wind turbines are installed, of which 82 single-pile foundation, 8 four-pile jacket foundations, 1 suction tube jacket foundation, supporting the construction of 3 220KV offshore booster stations and 1 onshore centralized control center in the east and west districts. The annual on-grid electricity of the project can reach 1.489 billion kwh. Compared with coal-fired power plants, it can save about 425,800 tons of standard coal consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 860,500 tons per year, with remarkable economic and environmental benefits.
The coastal waters of eastern Guangdong, where CGNPC's Shanwei Houhu Offshore Wind Farm Project is located, are one of the most complex sea conditions in China. The annual effective construction window period is less than 100 days, and the geological conditions are complex, making the construction difficult. Starting from April 2021, Ou Yang Offshore Engineering has successively invested two jack-up Wind Turbine Installation Vessels "Ou Yang 001" and "Ou Yang 003" and related auxiliary operation ships for the construction of Shanwei Houhu Project.
Under the support and guidance of CGNPC New Energy, CGNPC Engineering Corporation, Mingyang Intelligent and Shanghai Electric New Energy Company, the Ou Yang Offshore Engineering Project Team overcame unfavorable factors such as bad sea conditions, typhoon weather and epidemic prevention and control, and carried forward the work style of not being afraid of hardships and daring to explore; based on the advantages of Ou Yang Offshore Engineering in ship machinery equipment and technical management, it carefully organized, scientifically planned, and kept optimizing turbine installation technology and construction organization scheme. It successfully completed the wind turbine installation tasks of this project, won high recognition and praise from the owner, general contractor and relevant parties, and effectively guaranteed the smooth realization of the full-capacity grid connection goal of CGNPC Shanwei Houhu Offshore Wind Power Project.
