On December 23, 2020, as the 600-ton main crane of the jack-up Wind Turbine Installation Vessel "Energy Construction Guanghuo" slowly separated from the wind wheel, the installation of 46# wind turbine was finished smoothly.
The wind turbine installation project of Section A of Guangdong Electric Power Zhuhai Jinwan Offshore Wind Farm Project, which was contracted by CEEC Guangdong Institute and undertaken by Guangzhou Salvage Bureau, successfully completed the installation tasks of all 28 wind turbines, laying a solid foundation for the full-capacity grid-connected power generation of this project.
Guangdong Electric Power Zhuhai Jinwan Project is the first offshore wind power project of Guangdong Energy Group in Zhuhai. The project construction is located in the sea area south of Sanzao Town, Jinwan District, Zhuhai City, with a total installed capacity of 300,000 kilowatts. 55 Mingyang Intelligent 5.5MW anti-typhoon wind turbines are installed with a total investment of about 5.7 billion yuan. The construction of this project meets the development needs of renewable energy in Guangdong Province, and is a powerful measure taken to promote the adjustment of the province's industrial structure and energy structure and achieve high-quality development and green development.
Since the "Energy Construction Guanghuo" jack-up Wind Turbine Installation Vessel entered the Jinwan project at the end of April 2020, under the support and guidance of China Energy Construction Guangdong Institute, Guangzhou Salvage Bureau and Mingyang Intelligent, all the team members from Ou Yang Offshore Engineering quickly became familiar with the key points of Mingyang 5.5MW wind turbine installation, and quickly mastered the impeller assembly and wind wheel hoisting technology. In view of the marine hydrological characteristics of the South China Sea area, and there are more typhoons in summer and greater surges in winter, Ou Yang Offshore Engineering Project Team accurately organized the construction plan, formulated the time nodes for ship entry and exit and fan installation, and ensured that every construction window period was under the control and played the maximum construction efficiency of "Energy Construction Guanghuo".
In view of the difficulties of weak bearing capacity of geological strata and large pile insertion depth in this wind field, Ou Yang Offshore Engineering technicians carefully studied the engineering geological survey report, combined with the characteristics of the pile insertion and pulling system of "Energy Construction Guanghuo", carried out accurate analysis on plugging and pulling piles, and carefully formulated the installation vessel entry and exit plan as well as the plugging and pulling pile plan. With the efforts of all the staff of the Ou Yang Offshore Engineering Project Team, "Energy Construction Guanghuo" quickly and safely completed the installation tasks of inserting and pulling piles and turbines in all positions. During the installation and construction of wind turbines in this wind farm, "Energy Construction Guanghuo" has repeatedly inserted more than 30 meters deep, with a maximum insertion depth of 38.5 meters into the mud, creating a record for China's jack-up Wind Turbine Installation Vessel in inserting deep into the mud.
In the waters of Guangdong, Ou Yang Offshore Engineering actively explored the optimization of wind turbine installation process under harsh sea conditions in winter and achieved good results. As of December 29, the "Energy Construction Guanghuo" and Ou Yang Offshore Engineering project team had completed the installation of five wind turbines in that month, which was highly recognized and praised by the owner, the general contractor and other parties. It has accumulated valuable experience for the rush to install offshore wind power in Guangdong waters in 2021 and the improvement of wind turbine installation efficiency in deep seas in the subsequent era of parity.
